Part 4: Little adventures

Our little crew of four made it to the South of Sweden! We all agreed that we should just brave the wind and rain and explore a bit while we had the car.

We crossed the bridge from Denmark (with loud music) and were settling in to our summer house. Unpacking, lot’s of coffee for the grown-ups and play/fighting for the kids. The long, lazy breakfasts on Saturdays and Sundays are my favourites. We also took the time planning out what everybody wanted to do, and guess what, we all agreed for once.

We packed lunch anda thermos of hot coffee and off we went! It was a really windy day so we also packed a kiddie favourite – the kite. Our first stop was just a short drive, but the view is something else, and so much space for the kids to run around in. We stayed for lunch and enjoyed it in the back of the car. This all reminds me so much of the small trips I had with my family growing up. I don’t know, it just seemed like everybody drove everywhere back then (…and by “back then” I mean the 80’s), we even went camping in our 80’s Volvo, not sure if that qualifies as camping though?

Anyway, we were not planning on having a sleepover, it was time to go!

The kite is a big hit in our family, all seasons, rain or shine. It’s pretty amazing to see it high up in the sky, only to take a nosedive in the sand 10 seconds later… No, but really, it’s the simplest of things and the kids just love it! You should try it too.
